Getting Started with Easy Lead Distribution
Welcome to ELD. This guide takes you from signing up to distributing your first lead — step by step. The entire setup takes about 10 minutes.
Step 1: Download the App
Your ELD account works across all platforms. Download the app on whichever device you prefer:
- iPhone — Download from the App Store
- Android — Download from Google Play
- Web — Open EasyLeadDistribution.web.app in your browser
- Desktop — Open the web app link above in Chrome or Edge, then click the install icon in the address bar to add it as a desktop app
Tip: The web and desktop versions are handy during setup because you can easily switch between ELD and your WordPress admin tabs to copy and paste your Flow ID.
Log in with the email and password you used when signing up. You’ll land on your Lead Seller Dashboard — this is your home base for managing everything.
Step 2: Create Your First Lead Flow
A lead flow is a pipeline that connects a lead source (your WordPress form) to your lead buyers. Think of it as a channel — “Roofing Leads Tampa” or “Auto Insurance CA.”
From your dashboard, tap “Add New” in the Lead Flows section. Here’s what you’ll set up:
Flow Name — Give it a descriptive name. Your lead buyers will see this name, so make it clear. For example: “Solar Leads Phoenix” or “Home Insurance Florida.”
Lead Source — Select which WordPress form plugin you’re using: ELD Forms, Contact Form 7, or WPForms. The app will show you setup instructions for your chosen plugin and generate a Flow ID — a unique code that connects your WordPress form to this flow. Copy this Flow ID. You’ll need it in the next step.
Lead Sharing Configuration — Set how many buyers can receive the same shared lead (for example, 2 or 3 at a time). This doesn’t mean all your leads will be shared — it just makes the option available. When you add buyers later, you’ll choose whether each buyer gets exclusive or shared leads.
You can also set up segmentation rules (route leads based on location, budget, or any form field) and use the Lead Selling Simulator to model how many leads each buyer will receive. Both are optional for now — you can always come back and add them later.
Tap “Create Lead Flow” to save.
Step 3: Install the WordPress Plugin
Now head to your WordPress site. You need to install the ELD plugin that matches your form builder. If you don’t have any or if you have another type that’s not mentioned here, just install Easy Lead Distribution Forms (ELD Forms).
If you use Contact Form 7:
- In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New
- Search for “Easy Lead Distribution”
- Install and activate “Easy Lead Distribution for Contact Form 7”
- Go to Contact → ELD Connection
- Select your Contact Form 7 form from the dropdown
- Paste your Flow ID and click “Connect Form”
If you use WPForms:
- In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New
- Search for “Easy Lead Distribution”
- Install and activate “Easy Lead Distribution for WPForms”
- Go to WPForms → ELD Connection
- Select your WPForms form from the dropdown
- Paste your Flow ID and click “Connect Form”
If you use ELD Forms (our built-in form builder):
- In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New
- Search for “Easy Lead Distribution”
- Install and activate “Easy Lead Distribution Forms”
- Go to ELD Forms → Add New
- Build your form with the drag-and-drop editor (make sure it has Name, Phone, and Email fields)
- In the ELD Connection section, paste your Flow ID and click “Connect to ELD”
- Embed the form on your page using the shortcode provided
All three plugins are also available at EasyLeadDistribution.com/WordPress-Plugins.
Important: Make sure your form has at least Name, Phone, and Email fields. These are required for every lead. Any additional fields (zip code, service type, budget, etc.) will be auto-detected by ELD and included in the lead data your buyers receive.
Step 4: Send a Test Lead
Before adding buyers, make sure the connection works.
Go to your WordPress site and fill out the form with test data. Then open the ELD app and check your lead flow — you should see the test lead appear within seconds.
If it doesn’t show up, check these common issues:
- Plugin not activated — Go to Plugins in WordPress and make sure the ELD plugin status is active.
- Wrong Flow ID — Double-check that you pasted the correct Flow ID. A single missing character will prevent the connection.
- Form missing required fields — Your form needs Name, Phone, and Email fields.
- Caching plugin — If you use a caching plugin, clear the cache after installing the ELD plugin and try again.
Once your test lead appears in the app, your connection is working. You’re ready to add buyers.
Step 5: Add Your First Lead Buyer
From your dashboard, tap “Add New” in the Lead Buyers section. You’ll fill in:
Buyer’s Name — Their full name.
Buyer’s Email — This becomes their login. A welcome email with login instructions and app download links is sent automatically.
Lead Flow Selection — Select which flow(s) this buyer should receive leads from. For each flow, choose the distribution type:
- Direct (Fresh Leads) — Exclusive. This buyer gets leads that no one else sees.
- Shared — This buyer receives leads that are also delivered to other shared buyers (based on the sharing number you set when creating the flow).
Tap “Add Lead Buyer” and you’re done. The system creates their account, sends the welcome email, and connects them to your flows — all automatically.
Your buyer downloads the app, sets their password using the link in the welcome email, and starts receiving leads immediately. They don’t need to configure anything.
Step 6: You’re Live
That’s it. Your lead distribution is now running on autopilot.
When a prospect fills out your WordPress form, the lead is delivered to the right buyer’s phone in under 2 seconds. Exclusive leads go to one buyer only, rotating fairly through all exclusive buyers. Shared leads go to the number of shared buyers you defined, rotating fairly through all shared buyers. Every buyer gets their fair share over time.
From your dashboard you can:
- Monitor lead delivery — See real-time lead counts per flow and per buyer, filterable by timeframe.
- Pause or resume — Temporarily stop delivery to a specific flow or buyer with one tap.
- Add more buyers — Assign them to existing flows in seconds.
- Edit flows — Change the flow name, adjust sharing configuration, manage fields, or update segmentation rules.
- Check delivery details — Tap any buyer, then tap their assigned flow to see every lead they’ve received with full details and timestamps.
What Your Buyers See
Your buyers’ experience is simple by design. Here’s what they get:
- Instant notifications on their phone when a new lead arrives.
- Lead details — name, phone, email, and any additional fields from your form.
- One-tap actions — tap to call or email the prospect directly from the app.
- Lead status tracking — leads are automatically marked as New, Seen, or Contacted.
- Notes — buyers can add private notes to any lead (e.g., “Left voicemail,” “Wants a quote,” “Follow up Monday”).
- Search — find any lead by name, phone, email, or field value.
That’s the entire buyer experience. No setup, no configuration, no training needed.

Quick Tips
Use the Lead Selling Simulator to plan your business model before going live. Enter your expected monthly lead volume, number of exclusive buyers, and number of shared buyers — the simulator shows you how many leads each buyer will receive. Learn more about revenue planning.
Start with exclusive distribution if you only have 1-2 buyers. You can always add shared distribution later as you grow your buyer network.
Check the timeframe selector if you or your buyers don’t see any leads. The lead list is filtered by timeframe (Today, This Week, This Month). No leads showing might just mean the timeframe is set to a period with no activity.
Use the web or desktop version for setup tasks. Being able to switch between browser tabs makes copying the Flow ID and managing your WordPress plugin much easier.
Rename your lead fields to something your buyers will understand. If your form has a field called “your-name,” rename it to “Full Name” in the lead field management section. Your buyers see the display names, not the technical field names.
